The Ceiling
A Permanent Installation by Cy Twombly at the Musée du Louvre, Paris

Cy Twombly was given the honor of designing a painting for the Salles des Bronzes Antiques, one of the Louvre’s largest galleries.

An immense blue sky, dotted with floating spheres and inscribed with the names of illustrious Greek sculptors, now decorates the ceiling of the Salles des Bronzes Antiques.

A fully illustrated book accompanies this permanent installation. Cy Twombly. The Ceiling. Un plafond pour le Louvre. Edited by Marie-Laure Bernadac. Published by Louvre Éditions.
