Cy Twombly Award for Poetry

The Foundation for Contemporary Arts (FCA) announced the twenty-three artists and collectives who will receive Grants to Artists awards for 2025. Launched in 1993, the Grants to Artists awards are unrestricted, by-nomination grants that provide recipients—artists working in Dance, Music/Sound, Performance Art/Theater, Poetry, and Visual Arts who exemplify contemporary, experimental work being made today—with the financial means to engage in any artistic endeavors they wish to pursue.
We are pleased to join the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in announcing multidisciplinary writer Khadijah Queen as the 2025 recipient of the Cy Twombly Award for Poetry. This grant is supported by a multi-year gift from the Cy Twombly Foundation in memory of the artist, who was one of FCA's earliest supporters and who was influenced and inspired by poetry throughout his lifetime.
Since the inception of the Cy Twombly Award for Poetry in 2018, the following poets have been recipients of this award: Anne Boyer, Douglas Kearney, Julian Talamantez Brolaski, Willie Perdomo, Kay Ulanday Barrett, Kyle Dacuyan, A.J. Carruthers.
