Cy Twombly Inscriptions

A new In Perspective episode dedicated to Cy Twombly Inscriptions (2022), a comprehensive publication by the art historian Thierry Greub, which collects in six volumes the literary inscriptions included in Cy Twombly's works.
The genesis of the publication will be the main topic of the next episode through the conversation between the author and Eleonora Di Erasmo, Managing Director of the Cy Twombly Foundation.

Thierry Greub, Cy Twombly Inscriptions

Vol. VI, Brill | Fink, Paderborn, 2022 [pp. 370-371]

The conversation between Thierry Greub and Eleonora Di Erasmo on Cy Twombly Inscriptions will focus on the intellectual "journey" of the author to develop his comprehensive publication.

Starting from Greub's first encounter with Twombly's work, the conversation will move between the author's longstanding research on the literature sources and several translations used by the artist in his works and the role of poetry in his artistic research.

The conversation will explore the connection between words and images, dwelling on the figure of Cy Twombly as a "builder of bridges between art and literature”.
